    Parental Investment Strategies

    Date: 23rd August AM
The symposium will address the genetic and environmental factors underlying variation in strategies of parental investment and brood care, including decisions about allocation of resources between reproduction and competing functions. The talks will address evolutionary and causal mechanisms of parental investment strategies, and address the role of developmental plasticity for the evolution of parental strategies. Specific topics addressed will include the trade-off between current vs. future reproduction and between investment in reproduction and growth, and parent-offspring conflict and sexual conflict over parental investment.

Keywords: behaviour genetics, vertebrates, behavioural plasticity, parental investment, conflict
