Harsanyi, winner of the 1994 Nobel Prize in economics for his work in the field of game theory, has died at age 80. Harsanyi died Wednesday of a heart attack. He also suffered from Alzheimer's disease. Harsanyi was considered an innovator in the field of game theory, a mathematical theory of human behavior in competitive situations. Game theory is used to analyze real-life conflicts in business, management and international relations.
