Since I have started collecting free journals in my field,
significant changes (to the better) happened.
PubMed lunched PubMed Central with
a number of free e-journals (http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/about/bmcjournals.html)
and a
collection of paper journals free on-line (http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/).
Another great service at PubMed is the BookShelf. Bookshelf
contains free textbooks. Go to http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?db=Books
Also, hundreds of Elsevier journals became free for users in
many countries. For Hungary, simply register at http://www.om.hu/eisz/,
and use Web of Science, and Science Direct.
